Smash @ Xanadu Weekly (64 Singles Entrants) – 7/22/2014, Baltimore
Our largest Melee bi-weekly, we got 64 entrants and Team Apex’s Nintendude made a rare Xanadu appearance and stole the show. He beat out DP twice, fully utilizing wobbling and frustrating DP with his tactics. Vist upset Mortality’s ChuDat, although Vist does have other recent victories over Chu as well.

EXPosure 12 (47 Singles Entrants) – 7/26/2014, Oak Park, IL
Kels swept the Chicago-land EXP monthly, winning all Melee and PM events.

TRĂ… TIL 2 (38 Singles Entrants) – 7/26/2014, Fetsund, Norway
This Norwegian tournament blow up over expectance, and had 54 Smashers attending the 6 featured games over the weekend. Swedish falco Calle W won Melee Singles against puff-player Thomas, although Thomas reset the bracket in Grand Finals. The veteran team Masamune and Kriz convincingly took the doubles victory.

RSD x Melee (32 Singles Entrants) – 7/26/2014, Roosendaal, Netherlands
Though a small local hosted by ShadowTI in Roosendaal, RSD x Melee is the first collaboration between the dutch FGC since the SmashNL Dutchnoobz collaboration in 2010. The tournament was part of the RSD series, a series of fighting game tournaments organized by LLL.MBR. Participants could enter Melee and Ultra Street Fighter 4. Though most players stuck to their respective game a few dared to take the jump and enter both events. Notable players in attendance where LLL.Jeapie, Amsah, Enig, Adam, Faab and Ser. Results for grand finals might surprise you ;). The USF4 portion featured a proper livestream provided by Prog4mer played on stage. Though not originally planned Prog4mer was gracious enough to stream Melee Grand Finals with Shino and Epikfaal providing commentary. After getting eliminated in the main bracket the lower half of the tournament was placed in a amateur bracket to compete for first place in a bracket more suited to their skill level.

Revival of Auckland (31 Singles Entrants) – 7/26/2014, Auckland, New Zealand
As the name suggests, after an absence of more than 6 years the NZ smash scene is now in full force, being picked up for the next season of tournaments in the FGC. As we all know there’s no better way to celebrate something than with a huge Smash tournament, and this one was particularly awesome. With competitors from all over the North Island taking part, the tournament culminated in an always exciting duel between Dz and SpeedyJ. Dz showed his mastery of all 26 characters and falcon knees to win the tournament in spectacular fashion, overcoming SpeedyJ 3-0 in the Grand Finals and holding on to his title as the best in the country.

Princeton Weekly #4 (27 Singles Entrants) – 7/26/2014, Princeton, NJ
In the shadow of reigning champion C!Z, the central NJ smash community once again gathered for a Princeton weekly. Though fan-favorite aggro fox Alex The God made waves at his first Princeton appearance, Icer proved too strong and took the final set in dominant form. He joins C!Z as a two-time weekly champion.
