The Golden Bair (86 Singles Entrants) – 10/26/2014, Berkeley, CA
The Golden Bair was the first regional tournament hosted by Smash at Berkeley – U.C. Berkeley’s premier Smash Bros. club. The tournament consisted of MLG-style invitational round robin pools featuring 12 of Norcal’s finest players, alongside a 96-man open bracket. The top 4 from the open bracket joined the invitational players for the 16-man championship bracket. The event was a huge success, so follow Smash at Berkeley on facebook for info on upcoming events!

UM Biweekly 4 (64 Singles Entrants) – 10/26/2014, Ann Arbor, MI
A big local turnout came to Ann Arbor on Sunday to see how the Michigan scene would shake up after the epic events of The Big House 4. In his first tourney since getting 9th at TBH4, Kalamazhu made it to Winners Finals but dropped sets to Duck and then Moose to finish in 3rd. Elsewhere in bracket, WND | kd raised eyebrows with a second consecutive UMB top-8 finish, and Ginger also stepped it up with a win over Juggleguy. Overall, Duck extended his winning streak at Michigan locals with another convincing victory.

Smash @ Clarendon Happy Hour (50 Singles Entrants) – 10/24/2014, Arlington, VA
Last week’s installment of Smash @ Clarendon introduced a new bracket pool to top-8 format for competitors. The top 2 seeds from each group easily advanced to winners semis, with Chillin and DoH advancing to winners finals. DoH once again defeated Chillin in a close 3-2 set sending him to losers bracket. Nintendude’s Samus carried him over both up-and-comer Wishh and Chillin to advance to grand finals. In yet another show of Peach dittos, Nintendude made a quick 3-0 to reset the bracket, but DoH made some key adjustments to win the second Peach ditto 3-1. The 2nd/3rd place curse finally ended for DoH as he claimed his first Smash @ Clarendon victory.

Look At Dat Up-Smash hosted at Houston Hall at U Penn is returning for its 5th installment after a short hiatus over the summer. With a PR starting up in Philly, the recently revived scene has been growing and producing impressive numbers. In this weeks tourney Cactuar would take it going all Falcon. CFL Smackdown (formerly The Smash Academy) returned again with another exciting event! We had players from all over Florida show up to the event. VS Porkchops beat GK Gahtzu in winners, but then Gahtzu brought it back in losers finals to make grand finals. Notable placings were:

Scenic City Smash II: The Horizon (34 Singles Entrants) – 10/25/2014, Ooltewah, TN
Scenic City Smash II: The Horizon was a Brawl, Smash 4, Melee, and Project M tournament in Ooltewah, TN. It was the second edition of Scenic City Smash and Chattanooga’s third larger-scale tournament. SCS2 featured the strongest players from Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Nashville/Murfreesboro, as well as players from Georgia and Alabama, including SS | S0ft. Overall, more than 60 players attended the event.
A fledgling scene, Chattanooga has made its presence and skill known to the rest of Tennessee through the Scenic City Smash series. While currently not as strong as the other areas of Tennessee, Chattown is catching up fast and its players are making waves in TN tournaments. At SCS2, five Smashers from Chattanooga placed in the top 12 of Project M singles.
A fledgling scene, Chattanooga has made its presence and skill known to the rest of Tennessee through the Scenic City Smash series. While currently not as strong as the other areas of Tennessee, Chattown is catching up fast and its players are making waves in TN tournaments. At SCS2, five Smashers from Chattanooga placed in the top 12 of Project M singles.

Smashing Grounds 4.8 (36 Singles Entrants) – 10/23/2014, Framingham, Massachusetts
Loser’s Semi’s saw Numerics and his flashy ZSS take on Spaz’s Lucas in a fun to watch set which ended with Numerics winning the set and moving on to face Sora in LF, who had previously lost to Bloodcross in WF. Sora took the set and reset the bracket against Bloodcross to win the most stacked tournament SG has seen.

CFL Smackdown 6 (formerly The Smash Academy) (28 Singles Entrants) – 10/25/2014, Orlando, Florida
This was one of the more stacked Project M tournaments Orlando has seen. Sartron and Colbol usually go back/forth in grand finals of PM tournaments, but Sartron unfortunately fell to 4th place this past weekend. Recently, Sartron beat Colbol and Hungrybox in recent tournaments for PM. Gahtzu definitely played above his seed to take 3rd at this event.
The finals between Colbol and Porkchops was a simple Fox/Falco melee matchup, but was really hype!
