We’re less than a month away from the release of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, which means more grinding with the 3DS version and counting the days away until console Smash returns once again. Unfortunately, we missed last week, so this week we’re going to catch you all up on all the news and results you may have missed.

The News

Nintendo slapped down a big presentation at the end of October with the “50-Fact Extravaganza,” a half-hour live-stream packed with info on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. As it turned out, the video had closer to 60 unique facts about the game. 8-Player Smash, Custom Stage Creation, Smash Tour, and the reveal of Mewtwo as an upcoming DLC character headlined the stream. Even our pal Ridley made an appearance.

Smash fans in Europe better mark their calendars not for December but for November. The official release date of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U in Europe has been moved up to November 28th. The date was previously December 5th, a day before the Japanese launch. Additionally, both the Australian and New Zealand launches have been moved up to November 29th.

Over in the online modes, some 3DS players have be banned from online play longer than their entire lifespans. An online glitch banning players for 136 years has frustrated a number of Smashers over the weekend, though the apparent cause has not been confirmed. Some claim that the glitch can be triggered just by targeting an individual player over and over in FFA modes, while quitting games mid-match may also incite the glitch.

Tired of long download times for your favorite new games? Nintendo will be serving up a new pre-loading functionality for both Wii U and 3DS releases just in time for Smash Bros. on Wii U. You’ll be able to purchase and completely download the full game before release, which will then unlock at midnight of launch day. The pre-loading feature will kick off on Wii U with Smash as its first title, while the service will head to 3DS sometime in 2015.

And finally, VideoGameBootCamp took to Youtube to announce the Xanadu Smash 4 3DS Invitational, slated for this week on November 6th, featuring some of Smash 3DS’ best players like NAKAT, Nairo, and many more. $500 is up for grabs, so be sure to check out the action over at VGBC’s official Twitch channel.

The Tweets

The Smash 3DS Twitter star of the week goes to ZeRo, who took to Twitter in just the past day or so to hit the internet with some huge news.

Once the flagship player of Clash Tournaments, the Smash Bros. Invitational winner is now a Free Agent.

He also took the opportunity to knock Lucario down a few notches.

Maybe ZeRo should pick up Lucario to deal with those big, bad Lucario players.

That’s all for this installment of This Week in Smash 4. Stay tuned – Smash releases on Wii U in just a few weeks!
