Welcome! My name is Matthew “MattDotZeb” Zaborowski. You may know me as a tournament organizer (TO), a streamer, a commentator, or as a competitor. My most recent endeavor has been the most challenging out of anything I have done with nearly a decade spent in our community: The Melee Games. It has taken a demanding role in my life, and for good cause! Allow me to introduce you to this project through the DotBlog. I will be utilizing this blog weekly, every Wednesday at 12pm EST, to provide you updates pertaining to The Melee Games.
This week we discuss the stage selections throughout Fall ‘14, review California and Ontario, and reveal the final addition to Spring ‘15.
TMG By The Numbers
We’ve been over how important winning Game 1 of a crew battle is, and the performances for every character within TMG. This week we are going to take a look at what stages were used the most in the Fall ’14 season and how many times a character played on each stage. Next week I will try to look into counterpicks! Feel free to share any suggestions you may have.
California (Week 5)
After a few weeks of sign ups we’ve got 23 schools qualified. A few are just one or two away though! If you want to see your school participate and it’s not already qualified be sure to help spread the word to your classmates. Here’s an up-to-date image showing us the number of people signed up per school. Click the image to sign up!
Ontario (Week 2)
Week 1 has so far gotten us 13 schools and 30 players. Two schools, Ryerson University and York University, have qualified to participate thus far. Click the image to sign up!
The Mid Atlantic: A New Challenger
Tdude51 is helping us expand TMG a little bit further down the East Coast and into Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia! If you are a student in any of these states feel free to reach out to me or Tom “Tdude51” Georgen. As always, click the image to sign up.
