In bittersweet news today, Zac “SFAT” Cordoni has decided to become a free agent.

Working on the Melee It On Me team has been a transformative experience. In my time with the team, I’ve been able to hone my abilities as a Smash competitor, but more than that I’ve been able to be part of a driving force in the community. It was an honor to represent the MIOM banner and I can’t thank them enough for the opportunities they’ve given me, but it’s time for me to depart and pursue my own goals as a free agent. MIOM has always given me relentless support throughout every tournament and has taught me the composure of an eSports player. It saddens me to have to leave such a devoted team, but I must pursue my goals as a free agent.

Over the years, we’ve seen countless great performances from Zac in both singles and doubles with his good friend PewPewU. He has the ability to compete with the very best Melee players, as shown when he defeated TSM Leffen at Press Start and came within inches of defeating Liquid Hungrybox and COG MVG Mew2King in recent sets. Zac has always been a great joy to work with, and I respect his decision to pursue other opportunities.

I’ve known Zac since 2011 when he first made the leap of faith to attend my then-modest Midwest regional (The Big House 1). He’s a great friend, colleague, and one of the most dedicated travelers in the entire Melee scene. I’m happy Melee It On Me was able to help Zac build a strong community network and take his eSports career to the next level, and I’m very much looking forward to what he has in store for us all in the future.
