A: The Big House Compendium is a platform of Smash content where individuals can purchase items while choosing what goal their proceeds go towards. Not only can you support your favorite players, personalities, and content creators with your purchases, but you also support the tourney itself by unlocking various additions and content, which accumulate as stretch goals are met!
Q: What are you trying to accomplish?
A: Our goal with the Compendium this year is to provide a platform to support top talent in our community. The Smash community has long coveted “good player funds” to fly out top players to tourneys, but that model is changing these days with most of them having the luxury of sponsors who can provide financial support. This year we want to expand the Compendium platform to help support all top talent in the Smash scene, whether that’s a popular top player, an amazing commentator/personality, an incredible content creator, or simply a deserving community member.
Q: How does the player opt-in work?
A: Any eligible player can opt-in to the Compendium and set a goal amount of $ they need to attend the event. From there, each player who opts in gets a unique page with a tweet button. All tweets from that page earn votes, and the players with the top few votes will get added to The Big House 6 Compendium as a player goal!

Q: How do I participate as a non-player?
A: Go here to nominate and vote for players who have opted into The Big House Compendium, hosted by smash.gg! Or if you’re a content creator looking to feature your items on the Compendium, please apply here!
Q: What if people try to abuse the player opt-ins?
A: The nature of the player opt-ins is such that higher $ goals will naturally be harder to meet. When the Compendium begins, players who have lower $ goals are more likely to achieve them through the support of Compendium participants, while the players with higher $ goals may get stuck and fall behind the others. Because of this, the player opt-in format can effectively self-police any attempts to abuse the system.
Q: Are regional crew battles coming back?
A: Yes! Regional crews will return at TBH6, more info coming soon.
Q: When does the actual Compendium begin?
A: The first wave of Compendium content will be available for purchase starting September 9, then another wave of content will be available a few days after that, and so on. We are still collecting information from prospective content creators and putting things together. If you’re interested in featuring on the Compendium, please apply here! For now, it’s the nomination and voting phase.
