Another exciting MLG Qualifer has passed with C9.Mang0 making his debut on his new team and also winning another qualifier, besting both CT EMP|Mew2King and Curse.Hungrybox. Mango’s victory prevents another player from qualifying directly into the MLG bracket and brings hope to players who want to qualify via points.

A Recap for Spots

With four spots taken, there are three qualifiers and eight spots left. Up to three spots can be taken by players who win any qualifier. However if any upcoming qualifier is won by an already-qualified player, then the spot will be taken by another player who has accumulated points.

The Verdict

Auto-qualified Bids (Realistic Prediction: 5-6 auto-bids)

RoF3 will more than likely have a unique qualifying winner (Armada/Leffen) unless Remen attends and beats all of Europe (+1)

Pat’s House will most likely feature Mew2King, who will 90% likely win the tournament (Sorry, west coast… It had to be said) (-)

SKTAR3 will be featuring Mango, Mew2King, Dr. PeePee, and Armada. If Armada does not win RoF3, then he has a potential to be a unique champion or if Dr. PeePee can run the gauntlet, then he’ll be a unique champion. (+ ???)

Based on current results of players along with their anticipated tournaments, here is a table that I’ve generated to estimate the total points of each player after all 9 qualifiers.

Specifically I’d like to mention that Leffen, Armada, and Dr. PeePee will most likely make it by gaining a guaranteed bid or by simply placing top 3 at SKTAR/ROF. As long as s0ft accumulates some points at Pat’s House 3 and SKTAR, he will have a spot at MLG Anaheim. The remaining 4 spots are at large with Hax and Duck being the front runners in getting spots 9 and 10 with their astounding 1200 points and participation at SKTAR3. CT|Zer0, Plup, Nintendude, DJ Nintendo, The Moon, and KirbyKaze all have great chances of obtaining a bid with a solid performance at SKTAR3. Wildcards SFAT and Westballz will be attending both Pat’s House and SKTAR. With zero points for each of them, they will need outstanding performances at both tournaments to be in the running (Top 4 at Pat’s House + Top 8 at SKTAR3). Even with these predictions, take it with a grain of salt as the variance will be very high (+/- 500 pts). Even aMSa with a top 4 performance at ROF could make it into the MLG final bracket. Overall, it will be exciting to see how the drama unfolds when many of these players have to face each other late in bracket at SKTAR.
