Schedule is now available for The Big House 5 coming up October 2-4, 2015 in Dearborn, MI! Please read below for further details.
The Big House 5 tournament schedule is based on waves, which are blocks of time that represent a subset of entrants. This allows the TO staff to schedule pools appropriately to accommodate players who are entering multiple events. The number of waves you play in depends on the number of events you entered.

Q: When should I check-in to pick up my badge?

A: Check-in is available Thursday 9pm-midnight (all players and spectators), Friday 9am-11am (Wave A players only), Friday 11am-1pm (Wave B players only), or the rest of the weekend (all players and spectators) as specified on the schedule. You must check-in before your first tournament obligation, based on your pool assignment (TBA). We highly recommend checking in on Thursday night so you don’t have to worry about it later.

Q: When should I show up for my pools matches?

A: Show up anytime before your first tournament obligation, based on your pool assignment (TBA). You do not have to show up Friday morning unless you have a Friday morning pool. For example, if you are only entered into Melee Singles and your pool assignment is E5, then you could show up anytime before Friday 7pm, when Wave E begins. However, if you are entered into multiple events, make sure you check all your pool assignments and show up before your first tournament obligation.

Q: What if I committed a CRT TV during online registration?

A: If you committed a CRT TV, please bring it to the venue on Thursday night between 9pm-midnight or on Friday morning between 9am-10am. We highly prefer that you bring it to the venue on Thursday night, and if you do, you will have special access to the venue for friendlies on Thursday night.

Q: When are pool assignments released?

A: No earlier than September 27th. Please bear with us during the wait, as it’s not easy to create pools for over a thousand entrants while also accounting for future phase matchups. Our TO staff is very methodical about the scheduling and seeding mechanisms required to produce pools that are well-balanced in both regions and player skill. After pool assignments are released, you will know exactly when and where to be on the first day of the tournament.

Q: How do I check-in?

A: Bring a Photo ID to verify your identity, and go to the check-in desk outside the doors of the venue. This is also where you can pick up your early bird t-shirt if you registered in the first few days of July, or pick up your normal event t-shirt if you purchased one during the online registration process, or get your voucher for a $10 discount if you bring a CRT TV that meets the requirements specified during online registration.

Q: Can I make a special request to be placed into a specific pool wave?

A: No.

Q: I’m entered into multiple events. Will there be scheduling conflicts?

A: No. You will be competing in one event, at most, per wave on the schedule. You will just have to play in multiple waves.

Q: Can we play in the venue on Thursday night?

A: Although check-in is available on Thursday night, access into the venue that night will be limited to staff, volunteers, media, and players who bring a CRT TV. All other players and spectators will not be allowed into the venue until Friday morning.
