Melee It On Me Note: As an encouragement, I have been pushing for other smash communities to write about the players and storylines of their respective games. Hopefully, this will encourage more people to make content to create awareness of their respective scenes.
Writers Note: This is not a power rankings list. There is no order in which this list was created. It is simply a list of top players in the area. The way I came to the conclusion of all these players on the list was looking at tournament results, watching their matches on youtube, and (most importantly) asking around the local community. Some names were brought up a lot more often than others, but for the most part, these names were the ones that stuck out the most. Even playing most of these players myself, I know that they deserve to be up there.
Thank you for reading and if you think I forgot anybody, or somebody is on the come up, please comment below and let me know who to look out for!!

iQHQ | ANTi
The unknown, but well known monster. The day you see Anti in a tournament, you might as well just pay the spectator fee because this is a rare occasion and you know he’s going hard. Debatable to be in the number one spot, but when everyone knows your name, and you don’t enter, something has to be up.
Main: Mario, Luigi, Diddy Kong
Notable Win: ANTi vs Dabuz (Collsion XI)
PL XFIRE | Dabuz
You either love him or hate him. Known for his long matches against Abandango, Dabuz is nobody to take lightly…. AT ALL. He will time you out if you try to time him out, but if you’re in his face, you better not make a single mistake. His ledge reads are on point, and with a main like Rosalina, he will make you pay. Second at Apex is his new title, and he will show you why.
Main: Rosalina, Olimar
Notable Win: Dabuz vs M2K (Apex 2015)
DA | Jtails
The original Diddy main. “Aw man, a Diddy?” Yes, but this is no ordinary Diddy. When Jtails is on point, HE’S ON POINT. Not only a great player, but a great person. Approachable and respected, Jtails carries himself highly… Almost as high as the tier of his character.
Main: Diddy Kong
Notable Win: Jtails vs M2K (KTAR XI)
iQHQ XFIRE | Vinnie
One of the most underrated players in the region. People from the West Coast might not bring up his name, but when he walks in the venue on the East Coast, it means trouble. His high pressure play will have you begging for a second to think about your next move. Vinnie puts in hours in the lab, never being satisfied where he is and always hungry for more.
Main: Sheik, R.O.B., Diddy Kong
Notable Win: Vinnie vs DKWill (Smash Attack 2 GF)
iQHQ DA XFIRE | DKWill
Remember when Japan voted Donkey Kong as the lowest tier character in Sm4sh? Well, clearly they haven’t fought Will in a while. This DK main is very satisfied with the upgrades his character has received, and is even happy with the popularity it’s bringing him to his new twitch. “Welcome to the Jungle” is what he’ll say when you follow, but “good games” is what he’ll say when he beats you.
Main: Donkey Kong, Sheik
Notable Win: DKWill vs M2K (The Come Up: Losers Semis)
DA | NinjaLink
By far one of the smartest, if not the smartest, player in the Smash Bros. Community. This man knows almost everything about the game, from frame data to glitch explanations (check his Bowser Jr. explanation video). NinjaLink’s MegaMan has inspired many to pick up the character, but learn how hard it can be to win with him.
Main: MegaMan
Notable Win: NinjaLink vs MikeKirby (Smash Attack 1: Grand Finals Round 2) [12:00-end]
Ho3K | Dil
You might not know him too well, but Dil has had some standout performances so far. His Sheik is one of the best in the Big Apple. His patient playstyle and high punish game is what puts him on top, taking each set one game at a time. Unfortunately, there are rumors that he only attends Custom Move Tournaments, but that might not be a problem for him too long.
Main: Sheik
Notable Win: Dil vs NinjaLink (Nebulous 19: Grand Finals)

NSM | Nick C
Nick who? If you don’t know who Nick C is, his Captain Falcon will make sure you remember. His aggressive style is too much fun for the stream to watch. His great antics with Captain Falcon will have your cheeks red because you just realized that you just got kneed… twice.
Main: Captain Falcon
Notable Win: Nick C vs NinjaLink (Smash Attack 2: Winners Semis) [9:45-end]
Ho3K | MikeKirby
If you want to talk about dedication, you talk about MikeKirby. Very upset with the change between Brawl Kirby and Sm4sh Kirby, he made the best of it, and it’s paid off. Consistently in the Top 9 at every tournament he goes to, MikeKirby is ready to show the world his new Kirby antics. Just don’t pick a heavy character, because he might take you zero to death!
Main: Kirby
Notable Win: MikeKirby vs NinjaLink (Smash Attack 1: GF Round 1) [start-11:45]
Mr. E
“Hey… isn’t that the guy who upset M2K?” Yes, yes it is. Another dedicated player to stick with his favorite character, Marth. If you want to talk about spacing and ledge guarding, watch Mr. E take down constant Diddy Kong’s with his techniques. Constantly working on his game, he deserves to be recognized.
Main: Marth
Notable Win: Mr. E vs M2K (Sm4sh Wifi Tourney)
iQHQ juice.Max Ketchum
One of the rare commentators who also balls out on the battlefield. Known as Doom to most of the community, Max switched his name and his game. Repping Pink Falcon, Max’s specialties are being unpredictable in his playstyle, forcing inputs you didn’t want and making punishing blows off those reads. Matchups is what he does best making VERY accurate predictions in the future meta game.
Main: Captain Falcon, Sheik
Notable Win: Max Ketchum vs Nairo (XSmash 2)
iQHQ | Ribs
Call this guy the Upset King! His performance at Apex was more than enough to put him on the board. This old Gears pro is showing everyone that he isn’t a one game wonder. This Ness is constantly leveling up, and apparently, he isn’t even close to where his potential is.
Main: Ness
Notable Win: Ribs vs Zucco (Apex 2015 Round 2: Winners Round 1)

Ho3K | JohnNumbers
If anybody in the world wants custom moves to be legal, it’s JohnNumbers. As we’re about to enter the next chapter of Sm4sh, John is making sure every Wii U in the state has customs loaded on them. He does not have a clear main at the moment, as he bounces around from Shulk, Lucario, and Wii Fit Trainer, so he’s patiently waiting to pull out all the tricks in his sleeve and make an early impression on the Custom Community.
Main: Wii Fit Trainer, Shulk, Lucario
Notable Win: JohnNumbers vs Dil (Smash Attack 1)
DA | Jash
If you think Toon Link is a nobody in Sm4sh, you’ve clearly never seen Jash play. Just by watching him use Toon Link, you can tell that he has put HOURS in the lab. His biggest advantage being that there aren’t many Toon Links out there, so his antics are fresh and brand new, catching even the top players in the state off guard.
Main: Toon Link
Notable Win: Jash vs DarkBlues (Smash Attack 3)
iQHQ | MintyFlesh
Easily one of the best MegaMans in the state. The levels Minty has gained in such a short amount of time are incredible, and when he’s on his game, you don’t want to play him. You’ll usually see him rocking the tag “DA 20XXFIRE Wesley,” which matches his hilarious personality perfectly, but when it’s game time, you can see it on his face.
Main: MegaMan
Notable Win: MintyFlesh vs MikeKirby (Smash Attack 3)
iQHQ | TroyFullBuster
Constantly criticized on his stream for maining Diddy Kong, but never Hoo-Hahing. Even worse that Diddy was his Brawl main, and now it’s suddenly a problem for everyone. Nevertheless, Troy doesn’t let that bother him because not only does he main Diddy, but also Mario. This underestimated player proved himself by placing well at Apex, and even winning his pool. Still pretty raw, as Smash isn’t the main focus in his gaming career, but if you run into him in bracket, you better be prepared for him to not hold back.
Main: Diddy Kong, Mario
Notable Win: TroyFullBuster vs JohnNumbers (Smash into 2015! Losers Finals)

Raptor
This Yoshi main will have you as red as his character because of the frustration you’ll feel with his mind games. Raptor has stuck with his old main from Brawl, although he isn’t happy with the changes they made to Yoshi. No matter to him, he still plays his favorite character and has a bunch of new tricks. Don’t ever stay in shield when playing Raptor because if you do, you’ll be in an egg for the entire match!
Main: Yoshi, Mario
Notable Win: Raptor vs Drift (HSS Weekly Losers Final)
iQHQ | Gohan
A Captain Falcon main who doesn’t know the meaning of personal space. Gohan will relentlessly hunt you down on stage and make you apologize for any missed opportunities. While both his brother, Troyfullbuster, and himself came into the scene at the same time, Gohan’s quick rise through the ranks has gotten him noticed and even a tournament win already. Advancing out of pools at APEX, Gohan’s style has become a bit of stream favorite on Team Spooky as he is a crowd pleaser, knowing everyone just wants to see those moves, especially the knee of justice. Don’t sleep on his Luigi either. Though not as aggressive, his knowledge of his favorite character from all four Smash games can lead to some unexpected combos and making you wonder why he doesn’t use him more.***
Main: Captain Falcon, Luigi
Notable Win: Gohan vs Vinnie (Smash the Halls! Winners Finals)
*** This was written by one of my teammates. I was hesitant about putting myself on this list, but many people felt I deserved to be on it and I thank them for it.
This was a good I also happen to be a sm4sh player and I happen to main Marth and Lucina in sm4sh I have seen a few Mr.E tournament YouTube videos and its good to more sm4sh main in this smash game I hope one I get to play his black marth against my black Marth
