Arizona’s largest tournament to date, this local became a regional with players from Socal, Mexico, New Mexico, and Texas. Tai went on a rampage, beating GG7 and Westballz in winners, 4-stocking KBJ in losers, then losing a close game 5 to Westballz in losers semis. Westballz powered through the bracket after this, beating Wobbles and resetting the bracket against Axe. However, Arizona’s hometown hero was ultimately victorious, taking the second set in a 3-1 victory.

Video Game Rescue is an awesome retro gaming shop and arcade located in Jacksonville. It has been the Smash community’s home as of late and this was the most successful tournament hosted there yet. Intended to be mostly a local, the tournament did manage to attract some out-of-region interest as far as Melee is concerned.
Our region’s undisputed best player Gage was heavily challenged by Articanus who drove all the way from Savannah, Georgia. This was an excellent match up which made for some extremely interesting matches including a nail bitingly close grand finals.
Other high-caliber attendance from Savannah (Upke) and Gainesville (Renth, Moltov) made for some very competitive top 8 matches with some of our local players.
Overall the event was a great deal of fun thanks to the exciting regional clashes. We appreciate everyone who came out.
