The News
After over a month of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS action, the latest edition of Smash has finally launched on Wii U! Players stormed stores this past weekend to grab the new game, which released alongside the Gamecube Controller Adapter, brand new Gamecube controllers, and the first wave of Amiibo figures.
However, if you missed out in the initial release window, you may find yourself in a bit of a thicket. Apparently every available adapter, which allows players to use their Gamecube controllers to play Smash on Wii U, has been swiped from store shelves. The adapter itself is completely sold out, as is the Super Smash Bros. Bundle, which includes a copy of the game, the adapter, and a fresh controller. Some retailers are claiming to have new shipments in before the end of the month.
If you missed out on just a copy of the game, then your future isn’t as bleak – copies are easily attainable both physically and digitally. If a Wii U is what you lack, then some Black Friday deals may interest you. Best Buy is serving up a Deluxe (32 GB) Wii U bundled with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, as well as Nintendo Land, Super Mario 3D World, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for just $359.97.
Now with Smash in the hands of both 3DS and Wii U owners, there’s a big opportunity for new players to join the scene. They may check out the latest video from DidYouKnowGaming?, which offers some insight into technical play across the Smash series.
And, if you’ve been playing for quite some time now, you’ve probably downloaded patch 1.0.4, the latest update to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. It brings about not only a select number of fixes, removing glitches like toss canceling and character-specific hitstun canceling, as well as a flurry of balance changes.

Smash commentator D1 hit Twitter last week with some posts about Flash, a Japanese Melee player who turned West Coast heads with his Sheik play. Despite his focus on Melee, Flash hasn’t pushed new Smash titles out of his view.
Flash made mention of how in Japan the newer Smash titles are popular in tourney. This doesn’t deter him from wanting to improve in Melee.

He shares the same sentiments as many do in Melee, the fact that they have unfinished business. He wants to prove his worth at Apex 2015.

He doesn’t hate Smash 4 by any means, in fact he loves Lil Mac. Most of his focus is on tightening up his Melee Sheik though.

Flash also made mention of how the hardest players he faced in America were Fox mains. America’s Foxes do things Japan deemed impossible.

He looks forward to play the top 5 and any other strong players at Apex in an effort to improve and prove himself as worthy challenger.
