Game Over (64 Singles Entrants) – 3/4/2014, Boston, MA

This Game Over was extraordinary for a few reasons.

1) The Melee Games: UMass Amherst vs UMass Boston. Just do yourself a favor and watch the crew battle. 10 on 10 and plenty of hype as these two schools, considered among the favorites to win The Melee Games, fight for their tournament life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3-tugWdHng

2) Because of UMA vs UMB running us beyond schedule. We started at 9pm, but everyone stepped up their game and finished the bracket in a little over 3 hours.

3) M2K, on his way home from Polybash in Montreal decided to spend a few days in Boston. KoreanDJ met him in WF and GF & fought hard but M2K came out on top.

Check out this video from Samox after he attended Game Over on February 11th aka the day The Melee Games began. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqrtWP02f0E

Shell Shocked XIV (52 Singles Entrants) – 3/8/2014, College Park, MD

On March 8, 2014 the Shell Shocked series returned to The University of Maryland College Park with Shell Shocked XIV. The tournament was hosted in the Computer Science Instructional Center and had 52 entrants for singles with some of MD/VA’s best, including ChuDat, Chillindude829, Vist, Cyrain, DoH, The_Doug, and Wenbo. The Shell Shocked series has a long history in College Park, with the first Shell Shocked being held in 2007. The largest event in the series, Shell Shocked XII, featured 60 entrants and brought out College Park legends such as Husband and Wife. After former UMD student CTL graduated in 2012, it was thought to be the end of the Shell Shocked series. However, tdude51 and the newly formed Super Smash Bros Club at UMD were proud to bring the event back to prominence and draw out a large number of entrants for this talent-packed local (CTL can now be found attending UMich and assisting Juggleguy in midwest tournaments such as The Big House).
Notable results include The_Doug beating DoH in winner’s bracket, Vist beating Chillin in winner’s, and Wenbo nearly beating Chillin in loser’s in what was certainly the hypest set of the tournament (~_~ OH my GOD! ~_~). In the end, ChuDat and Chillin played a close Grand Finals, with Chillin winning the first set, but losing the second one to Chu.

Replays (45 Singles Entrants) – 3/9/2014, Virginia Beach, Virginia

The largest Melee tournament in SoVa (Southern Virginia) in the past several years dating back to 2006 or 2007. Or possibly even the largest in SoVa’s history. Stream uploads and archived videos will come in time.
Milkman travelling from Richmond to attend. An amazingly played Fox/Marth grand finals with quite possibly his first ‘official’ victory over Ether.
Hosted by Ether and The_Doug at a game store called Replays. Streams by Sepulcher and Jessen. Big thanks to Ben (store owner) and Eddie for helping run things.

Tech-nique 3 (34 Singles Entrants) – 3/8/2014, Atlanta, GA

Georgia’s newest bi-weekly series, hosted by Puma, had its largest attendance in the tournaments short history. In doubles, SS | Flow and Baka4Moe teamed up and bested SS | FlaminRoy and SS | Nicaboy to take 1st place. The brothers came back in singles to take 1st and 2nd place with SS | Nicaboy taking out Baka4Moe in Winners Finals and SS | FlaminRoy beating him in Losers Finals and taking 2 sets off his brother to win Grand Finals. Awestruck turned out to be the surprise of the tournament beating power ranked players Pengie and DAB in winners but Pengie came back strong in losers with impressive wins over SS | Flow and Awestruck to take 4th place.

Gameclucks (63 Singles Entrants) – 3/8/2014, Lynwood, WA

Another fatty turnout in WA. 60~ entrants seems to be the new norm the past few months (79 entrants in Jan.). Special guest Sheridan from Cali placing 4th in a hype set against Chip in losers. Noobking making an appearance from Canada placing 5th. Chip beat bladewise in 2 sets(the biggest upset of the yr) the last Gameclucks they played but Bladewise showing his dominance this tourney by beating him 3-0 in winners and 3-1 in losers. Wa scene is getting hype for their regional NWMajors in May, attracting as many players as they can pull in.
