Game Over (62 Singles Entrants) – 2/4/14, Boston, MA

Starting September 24th, 2013 Game Over has seen it’s numbers grow from mid-teens for the first few weeks to the month of November having two 30+ man events and two 40+ man events. As seen in the results, Game Over places an emphasis on a player’s school and has helped create a growing college scene within Boston. Due to a venue shutdown in December, Game Over went on hiatus until January 28th in which it’s return pulled 64 entrants. February 4th kept the momentum going with 62 entrants and 9 full set-ups. With The Melee Games officially kicking off on February 11th it is expected that the number of entrants will continue to rise.

Cold Hands (29 Singles Entrants) – 2/8/14, Toronto, Ontario

A small chill tourney without many top players, ended up having a lot of close bracket matches and upsets because of this. Hammertime vs. Weon-X was 3-2 and incredibly close. K-Oh made a clean run for fourth and surprised many. However, most notably was the Grand finals set where Weon-X and Idea agreed to banned stages only, creating an intense 3-2 reset for Idea then 3-2 win for Weon-X in the last game, last stock on Fourside that got the venue pumped.

S.L.Y.M.I. 3- The Gauntlet (23 Singles Entrants) – 2/8/14, Easton, PA

Easton is host to many tournaments since November of 2012. There have been many great players who have shown up to this humble, yet perfect setting for tournament goers and game fanatics alike. The S.L.Y.M.I. (Smash Like You Mean It) series is growing and bringing in more and more competition from Tri-state, Delaware, and CT.

Kings of the North (57 Singles Entrants) – 2/8/14, Milwaukee, WI

The first Milwaukee tournament in years on years on years. We had 75-90 people show up /on a sunday/ to play melee and PM. Players came from all over Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota.
Highlights include Mundungu’s strong showing against Kels in Winners Semis and the return of Tapion. That’s right, Tapion of Isai Are you Watching Fame is playing melee again.
Strong showing, great games, I’m looking forward to seeing Wisconsin’s growth in the months to come.
