Reason #1… Evo 2013.

From where I was sitting, Evo was a battle of willpower. MLG Anaheim is the same – a different kind of tournament. You can point at SKTAR or any of the other huge MLG qualifiers, but those were grassroots regionals and nationals. We’ve all been there, and our top players have plenty of experience with them. On the main stage at Evo 2013, I saw a bunch of players looking like deer in the headlights. Our champions weren’t ready for that stage. There was only one top player who really showed up at Evo. You already know who it was.

Reason #2… he’s mad.

We’ve only seen C9MaNg0 mad a few times, and every time it’s happened he’s looked like the best player to ever hold a gamecube controller. Whenever MaNg0 shows up with respect for his opponents, with that zen calm and patience that’s fueled by hate and ambition, he runs over players like no one else to ever do it. Think Evo, think Zenith 2013, think Genesis 1, think Pound 3.

When the going gets tough, MaNg0 wins.
