A man notorious for his hatred of Captain Falcon, this Norcal Sheik main has had a breakout year. Not only ranked 4th in Norcal, his 25th at EVO, in tandem with 17th’s at Press Start and Super Smash Con, have him steady as one of the top Sheiks in one of the world’s best regions.

Summary
|

Canada’s best and certainly most stylish Falcon, n0ne has made great strides, rising to the top of Canada’s elite with a distinguished style. n0ne improved steadily throughout the year, starting out a relative unknown and finishing off with a notable 3rd place at Tipped Off 11 – with wins over DJ Nintendo and Professor Pro to boot. After moving from the Nicaraguan scene, n0ne is now a crowd favorite and a top 5 Canadian player – as well as the subject of a few GRSmash videos.

Originally from Michigan, Kyle “Kalamazhu” Zhu is now a resident of NorCal as of this year. While he dabbled in a Marth for a good portion of the year, his best tournament placings remained with his famous midwestern Peach, including 25th at Apex, 17th at FC Return, 33rd at EVO 2015, and 17th at SSC. He has recently announced his intentions to stop playing Marth and return to fully playing Peach.

Summary
|
||||
For much of his recent career, Darkatma has been the big fish in a relatively small pond. As the top smasher in the Missouri Power Rankings, Darkatma is still able to make solid showings at nationals, including 65th at Apex 2015, 33rd at EVO, and 17th at The Big House 5. Without having the top tier training partners other regions possess, these results are even more impressive. Atma continues to work at growing the St. Louis scene, and as the region improves, look for Atma’s results to improve as well.

When one is expecting to play Hungrybox, there’s only one name that comes to mind for practice; Prince Abu. From Michigan, Abhishek “Prince Abu” Prabhu is widely considered to be one of the top 3 Jigglypuffs in the world, along with Hungrybox and Tekk. Having earned placings such as 25th at Super Smash Con and The Big House 5, 17th at FC Return, and 7th at MLG World Finals 2015, Prince Abu has managed set wins against players such as Westballz (Rubicon 2), Shroomed (EGL), Bladewise (MLG WF 2015), Chillindude (MLG WF 2015), and Ryan Ford (TBH5).

Sponsored by Team Liquid, Kashan “Chillin” Khan was the first notable solo Fox main, taking a set off of Ken while he was undefeated. He had great showings at BAM7 where he placed 5th, and placed 17th at CEO 2015 and The Big House 5, the latter of which he beat Slox in pools and eliminated Reno and Alex19.

Before Armada, Amsah was the premier European Melee player, dominating most of the competition in Europe in the 2007-2009 era. Even after Armada’s arrival to the scene, Amsah was considered a solid second to Armada in Europe from 2009 to around 2011. A strong Sheik main from the Netherlands, he continues to make strong showings in European tournaments, placing 2nd at HFLAN Melee Edition, 5th at BEAST 5, and 5th at Dreamhack London. On several occasions, he has beat out players such as Android (BEAST 5) and Professor Pro (DH Winter 2015, HFLAN Melee Edition).

Team Liquid’s very own Ken “Ken” Hoang, the King of Smash, while not being as dominant as he was in the past, made sure we kept an eye on him this year. With an impressive run at EVO, he defeated players such as Westballz and Santiago. With many other top 32 placings, Ken solidifies his spot on the list.

Previously known as Unknown522, Ryan Ford is a Canadian smasher and well-known Fox main. He was ranked 15th on the SSBM Rank 2013, and famously took Hungrybox to game 5 in a nailbiter set at The Big House 2. After the name change and return to Melee in 2015, he’s managed to place 7th at GOML 2015 (beating Toph and RaynEX), 5th at EXP 2015 (beating Vish), and 33rd at The Big House 5 (beating Professor Pro).

Ken > Chillin finally again. For the first time since like the ’06 ranking.
Well, i’ve yet to see Drephen, Kage, Android, Fat Goku, Rula, KJH and Frootloop, so i’m guessing they’re in top 50? Surely in the 50-41 range, as they aren’t in the Hidden Bosses, and any higher would surely make this list fraudulent…anyway Darkatma is underrated asf if this is true, Darkatma is better than many players above him…he should be around 45-51 at least. Kalamazhu also is underrated asf, look at his results…he should be in top 50, not any further than that though. Other than that this list isn’t too bad, after all the system used to create these lists aren’t perfect.
