Summary
An Arizona staple, Tai’s slippery Marth has been the practice partner for top players for years. A high bracket placement at CEO 2015 and consistent wins in his home state, at regionals, and against top players the likes of Javi prove his worth in that role.

Summary
Somewhat of a hidden boss, Azusa has been known for his solid Peach that can compete with anyone in Norcal. He has refined his gameplay by playing with people such as Bob$, Berto, and Isis. Through trial and error with strong scrutiny, he remains a strong threat that many players, especially Fox and Falco mains, want to avoid in bracket.

Summary
As one of the top players from Japan, Rudolph is very skilled. With wins over Japan’s other top players, he has ventured to the United States this year to test his skills. He saw success in his tournament placings, which include 9th at Pax Prime, 49th at Paragon Los Angeles, 25th at HTC Throwdown, and 49th at The Big House 5. With such a great showing for 2015, hopefully he will return in the future.

Summary
The best Marth in Texas has sought to prove he is a dominant player in the American South, and his strong showing at regionals paired with skillful pivot tipper f-smashes has gotten him there. Arc placed 4th at Low Tier City 3, behind only Axe, Wobbles, and Mew2king — all extremely strong players — and is currently ranked first on the central Texas PR.

Summary
A long-time veteran of the melee community, Swiftbass, also known as Swift or GibsonZero, has seen his fair share of tournaments. While criss-crossing the east coast in the last couple of years, he’s picked up remarkable experience and a patient, consistent Marth and impressive bracket placements in 2015 — including placings in the final brackets of TBH5 and APEX 2015.

Summary
Melee’s resident musician, DizzKidBoogie, has used his rhythm to up his IC game to the top level in 2015. His skill for wobble setups and very rare drops makes him a tournament threat for anybody who isn’t paying attention. His recent climbing of the New York ranks is a result of strong showings at Nebulous regionals and he remains one of 2015’s most improved players, rising from relative obscurity.

Undoubtedly one of the top Samus players in the world, Darrell White has commanded attention with his flashy play and the braggadocio that comes in turn. While he fell in rank from 2014 due to slight inactivity, 25th at CEO and 33rd at EVO are more than enough to warrant his spot.

Summary
S0ft, the rest heavy Puff main from Georgia, hasn’t had a huge top 8 placing like he did nearly two years ago at Apex 2014. Regionally, he has done well placing 2nd at many of the South’s locals and regionals. He took 7th place at WTFox and finished 17th at CEO 2015, as well as placing 65th at Apex and Evo this year. S0ft may have quietly made his way onto the top 100 this year, but his rests and rollouts will leave you needing R&R.

Summary
Despite that he is more well known for being a top player in Smash 4, Eric “ESAM” Lew is also a skilled Samus player in Melee, ranked 4th in South Florida. In 2015, his notable placings include 17th at Paragon LA, 25th at The Big House 5, and 5th at Tipped Off 11. He also led the Clemson University Melee Games team as they won the Carolinas region before losing to Georgia Tech at Tipped Off 11. Esam continues his dominance in the South Carolina local scene, consistently winning almost every event he enters in the state.

1/8/2016 – SSBMRank Recap

SSBMRank is a big undertaking every year. We could have not done this without the help of HTC, who generously helped us out with this year’s production values. Nick, Darkdragoon, was a workhorse with the formatting and the graphics this year as well. We also had countless volunteers that helped out with numerous tasks.
